About

A jazz concert by the Rob Scheps Core-tet playing the music of Coltrane for what would have been his 100th year. Saxophonist and flutist Rob Scheps, a New England Conservatory graduate and longtime New York bandleader, leads an ensemble with Jim O'Connor on trumpet and fluegel horn, Jamie Reynolds on piano, David Kingsnorth on bass, and Marcello Pellitteri on drums. Roger Rosenberg, baritone saxophonist from Steely Dan, appears as special guest. Scheps has recorded on over 35 albums, including acclaimed Core-tet releases on Steeplechase and Smalls Records.
