Twangville Presents: Brandon Callies, Robert Cody Maxwell, and Bird Streets

Twangville Presents: Brandon Callies, Robert Cody Maxwell, and Bird Streets is a live rock and roll show at Groove in New York City. It is put on by Twangville, a music blog covering alt-country, Americana, indie, rock, folk and blues, and brings together three songwriters whose music ranges from heartland anthems and gritty Texas pop to shimmering indie-pop. Brooklyn-based Robert Cody Maxwell channels early heartland rock with unadorned lyricism and driving guitar, Bird Streets is the band project of Brooklyn artist John Brodeur, whose 2025 album The Escape Artist blends dark power-pop and psychedelic-tinged indie, and Texas-based Brandon Callies mixes roots-rock grit, Americana storytelling and late-1960s power-pop shimmer.
