About
"Afterlives" is a feature-length desktop film by Kevin B. Lee about the interplay of images and violence, examined through ISIS propaganda videos. Inspired by Harun Farocki, the film asks how one can approach images of terror critically without unintentionally amplifying their toxic content. Moving between online environments, dialogues with researchers, museum artefacts and AI-generated images, and inspired by the figure of Medusa, it offers orientation in today's on- and offline worlds of images. The screenplay is by Kevin B. Lee, the camera work is by Ginan Seidl, and the music is by Tadklimp and Maya Shenfeld.
