About
'Before Sunrise' is a feature film about an encounter: an American and a Frenchwoman meet on a train from Budapest to Vienna and have 24 hours for each other. Behind the work is Richard Linklater, who also co-wrote the screenplay; Ethan Hawke appears as Jesse and Julie Delpy as Céline. The two give the story a body, but the city of Vienna itself is what brings it to life – Linklater turns it into an enchanted place, a hall of mirrors, a wonderland. The film is dedicated to his grandparents.
