Den Himmel erforschen

Collegium Helveticum

About

"Den Himmel erforschen" is a permanent exhibition in the foyer of the historic Semper-Sternwarte in Zurich. It displays astronomical instruments from the collection of Rudolf Wolf, the observatory's founder and first director of the ETH observatory, who collected everything on the subject of astronomy. Around 300 of his objects, including sundials, astrolabes and graphometers, belong today to the ETH Library's collection of scientific instruments and teaching aids, and the exhibition also shows the telescope Wolf used to count sunspots. The exhibition is available in German and English as well as in simple language.
