About
This guided tour takes you to the Semper Observatory, built in the 1860s by architect Gottfried Semper. You will discover an architectural gem in the centre of Zurich and explore a piece of scientific history. Already in the 19th century sunspots were studied from the dome, and generations of researchers have gazed from here into the vastness of space. The tour is led by Dorothea Zimmermann and Roberta Spano from the Collection of Scientific Instruments and Teaching Aids of ETH Zurich.
