A tour takes visitors into the noble gas laboratory at ETH Zurich, where they can look at meteorites up close. Researchers there study what planets, asteroids and comets are made of and how old the material forming the Earth is. The laboratory is led by Prof. Dr. Henner Busemann, a lecturer in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences. Using highly precise instruments, they determine the composition of the tiniest samples to unlock the history of our cosmic surroundings and the origin of space samples, including asteroid samples brought back by NASA and JAXA.
