Denkmal(pflege) - Privileg oder Zumutung

«Denkmal(pflege) – Privileg oder Zumutung?» is a discussion event in the Freitagsforum Denkmalpflege 2026 series. The series is jointly organised by ETH Zurich and the University of Bern in cooperation with ICOMOS Suisse, the Conference of Swiss Monument Conservators, the Arbeitskreis Denkmalpflege, the Gesellschaft für Ingenieurbaukunst and the ETH Material Hub, supported by the Federal Office of Culture. In 2026 it examines the tension between monuments as witnesses of history and outstanding examples of our building culture on the one hand, and the burden of costly upkeep, strict conditions for alterations and the laborious search for a suitable new use on the other. Voices range from private and cooperative owners to investors, property valuers and those who care for monuments professionally.
