About
Die Zauberorgel is a children's musical by the Zürcher Märchenbühne, staged for children from age four, performed in Swiss German and lasting about 90 minutes including an intermission. The piece is by Jörg Schneider with music by Emil Mosel, directed by Philippe Roussel with an ensemble featuring Ramona Fattini and Christian Sollberger. It tells of the poor tinker Fridolin and his daughter Rägeli, who travel with a mysterious magic organ, whose music can make people happy, to the gravely ill King Adalbert in order to heal him. Along the way the wicked apotheker couple Bitterli tries to steal the organ, and Fridolin and Rägeli are joined by a scarecrow and a snowman.
