Einar Schleef – Ich habe kein Deutschland gefunden

The evening is a screening of the documentary film «Einar Schleef – Ich habe kein Deutschland gefunden» followed by a talk with the audience. The film is by director Sandra Prechtel, who portrays the theatre maker, writer, painter and photographer who died 25 years ago. The film traces Schleef's life as a drama of stations, from his beginnings in the GDR via scandalous successes and his flight to the West to his lonely death around the turn of the millennium. It shows a universal artist who found no home in any Germany and became a precise chronicler of German reality.
