Frühe Cembalomusik erzählt biblische Geschichten

A talk concert of early harpsichord music telling stories from the Bible. Just as Renaissance painters depicted biblical stories, composers also set biblical passages for vocal ensembles; some of these pieces became so famous that the text could be dropped and they were performed instrumentally. Listeners can then create their own inner images of the stories. The ensemble Recitans canere performs, in a concert with commentary led by Angelika Moths, a musicologist and harpsichordist who also appears as soloist.
