Basic course: learn to read old German script.

The basic course «Keine Angst vor alten Schriften» introduces the old «Kurrent-Schrift» or «deutsche Schreibschrift», which often makes it hard to read letters from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is offered by the Zentralbibliothek Zürich, specifically by its Manuscripts department. In this compact course, participants learn the forms of this script and read documents from the Zentralbibliothek's collection together. No prior knowledge is expected, the number of participants is limited, registration is required, and no course fees are charged.
