Louisa Gagliardi – Long Distance Relationship

The exhibition "Long Distance Relationship" presents new pictures by Swiss artist Louisa Gagliardi, her fifth solo show with the gallery. She paints digitally, prints the images on PVC, and then works on them with various varnishes such as nail polish, creating glossy, ambiguous surfaces. At its core is the tension between closeness and distance – between the works, the visitors, and an uncertain future. Pairs of works and installations, such as two plastic curtains showing the front and back of a truck, generate visual dialogues and an unease that tips into a nervous laugh rather than a gloomy dystopia.
