About
Sense and Sensibility is a feature film about the sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, who after their father's death must rely on distant relatives because their brother keeps the inheritance to himself. Georgia Oakley directs from a screenplay by Jane Austen and Diana Reid. The cast includes Daisy Edgar-Jones, Caitríona Balfe, Fiona Shaw, George MacKay, Frank Dillane and Esmé Creed-Miles. To escape financial troubles both sisters are expected to marry well, yet they want to follow their hearts.

Critics
7.1Good
Critics praise the lead performances, the confident female perspective, and the fresh, naturalistic visual style. They fault the loss of Austen's ironic humor and that the romances crowd out the sisters' relationship, preventing a truly distinct reinterpretation.
