«strike»: Wu Tsang's dance performance on the Carmen myth.

«strike» is a multidisciplinary dance performance in which live improvisation, sound, video and flamenco meet the myth of the opera character Carmen. Behind it is the artist Wu Tsang with her collective Moved by the Motion, produced by NTGent. The piece does not simply retell Carmen's story, but tears apart fragments of the myth and reassembles them anew. In doing so, it asks what violence lies hidden in the beauty of this legend.
