“Taximi” – the world of Rembetiko with Jorgos Stergiou.

A concert evening titled “Taximi” – die Welt des Rembetiko at Kilchbergstrasse 1 in Zurich. Behind the evening is the ensemble Taximi, with Jorgos Stergiou (bouzouki and oud), Christian Vandersee (violin) and Manolis Papavassiliadis (guitar and singing). Rembetiko music reached Greece with Greek refugees from Turkish Asia Minor and stands for free, lamenting improvisation. It is complemented by sounds from Crete, music by Theodorakis and songs from Latin and Mediterranean music.
