34. Open Mike: literature competition with twelve finalists.
About
The 34. Open Mike is a competition for young literature in which twelve finalists read their texts throughout the day. Out of more than 500 submissions, four poetry and eight prose texts have been nominated, and each participant has 15 minutes to convince the audience and jury. The jury of Daniel Falb, Martina Hefter, Ruth Klinkenberg and Sasha Marianna Salzmann selects three winners and awards a total of 7,500 euros; the friends of the ZLB also present an audience prize consisting of a later reading at the Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin. The award ceremony takes place in the evening, and admission is free.
