Himmelsstudien is an exhibition of photography at the Evangelisches Zentrum Berlin, presented there as the 59th cabinet exhibition. It is the work of the Spanish artist Andrés Galeano, who collects sections of sky cut from photographs he finds at flea markets and in old photo albums. From these found pictures, which show holiday scenes, family celebrations and landscape views, he composes layered sky studies. The colours hint at the sky and at where each picture came from, circling around a longing for transcendence.
