Auf zu neuen Werken! Max Slevogt, Bruno Cassirer und Max Liebermann is a special exhibition at the Liebermann-Villa. Curated by Viktoria Bernadette Krieger, it explores the nearly 30-year collaboration between the painter and illustrator Max Slevogt and the publisher Bruno Cassirer. This creative partnership was decisive in establishing Slevogt as a leading representative of German Impressionism, and through founding the journal „Kunst und Künstler“ Cassirer strongly influenced the art-theoretical debate of his time. Works by Max Slevogt and Max Liebermann present milestones of artistic book illustration.
