Ausstellungseröffnung: Schwedische Moderne
Brücke-Museum, Bussardsteig 9, 14195 Berlin, Dahlem
About
An opening with welcome remarks and an introduction for the exhibition „Schwedische Moderne“. It is presented by the Brücke-Museum in cooperation with the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, with Isabel Fischer as the exhibition's curator. The exhibition is devoted to a chapter of the European avant-garde: in the early 20th century, young Swedish artists, including the groups De unga and De åtta as well as the Göteborg Colourists, sought new forms of expression and found a shared language in Expressionism. Around 70 works from the Moderna Museet's collection are shown, most of them for the first time in Germany, including especially richly colourful paintings by Sigrid Hjertén.
