BERLINER PORTRÄT GALERIE – GEBURTSHELFER DER LITERATUR FOLGE 1: PAUL UND BRUNO CASSIRER
Renaissance-Theater Berlin, Knesebeckstraße 100, 10623 Berlin, Charlottenburg
About
A matinee of the Berliner Porträt Galerie in the Bruckner-Foyer of the Renaissance-Theater Berlin, presented by and with Maria Hartmann, with Charles Brauer as guest. It is about the cousins Paul and Bruno Cassirer, publishers and art dealers who shaped Berlin's cultural life around 1900. Without their unerring instinct for outstanding talent, the literary paths of Else Lasker-Schüler, Christian Morgenstern, Robert Walser or Ernst Toller would have taken a different course. They promoted these writers before they became known to the public, and championed Impressionism in the visual arts, gathering painters such as Max Liebermann, Max Slevogt or Lovis Corinth around them.
