About
Controlled Burn is an exhibition by Serbian artist and photographer Mirjana Vrbaški at the Galerie im Tempelhof Museum. Building on the 2024 photo work grant she received from Haus am Kleistpark, she explores the Dreifaltigkeitsfriedhof III cemetery in Mariendorf Nord as a fragile urban oasis threatened by planned development, while also drawing on indigenous ecological knowledge and traditional fire management practices. She transfers photographs of natural habitats onto wooden panels and exposes them to flame, alongside further works on glass.
