Elshan Ghasimi: Persian art music on the tar.

A concert of Persian art music in the historic lecture hall of the Tieranatomisches Theater. In it, composer and Tar virtuoso Elshan Ghasimi continues her multi-year cycle 'Die Reinterpretation des Radīf', turning to Dastgāh-e Chahārgāh, one of the twelve subsystems of the orally transmitted Persian musical canon. As the first woman, she undertakes the systematic reinterpretation of all twelve subsystems, each becoming the starting point of an independent contemporary work. The concert lasts about an hour, admission is free, and registration is required.
