A colloquium by the Maecenata Stiftung in cooperation with the Allianz Rechtssicherheit für politische Willensbildung e.V. asks whether freedom and solidarity are opposites, or whether responsibly lived freedom requires solidarity. The political scientist Dr. Marie Wachinger opens with a talk on the concept of solidarity and its current situation in civil-society networks. Afterwards Dr. Rupert Graf Strachwitz, a board member of the foundation, examines the concept of freedom before a discussion with all participants. The hybrid event addresses a broad audience and aims to develop arguments for public debate; a small reception follows at the end.
