Helmut Frelke. Holzmanifestationen.

About
An exhibition of panel paintings drawn from the grain of fine woods at the Galerie Kulturhaus. The Spandau-based artist Helmut Frelke, born in 1951 in Kazakhstan, lets the wood speak through layers of stain: hidden mythical figures and biblical scenes come to light that seemed already laid down in the root wood. A significant part of the works is devoted to Christian motifs, which take on a very contemporary language in Frelke's hands. The exhibition runs from 16.10.2026 to 16.01.2027 and admission is free.
