About
The hikaeme trio appears at PANDA platforma as part of PANDAjazz. Behind it are three Japanese musicians, Taiko Saito, Yuko Oshima and Rieko Okuda, now living in Berlin and Strasbourg, who started the project in 2024. They draw on Nagauta, Ondo and Hayashi, forms each has known since childhood, and let them meet free jazz, rock and improvisation. Their voices answer one another through kakeai, while marimba, vibraphone, taiko drum, drums, rin and piano keep the ground shifting.
