About
The Otomo Yoshihide New Jazz Quintet performs a concert at Haus der Berliner Festspiele as part of Jazzfest Berlin. Behind the project is Japanese musician, composer and bandleader Otomo Yoshihide, a versatile artist in creative music. With guitar, trumpet, trombone, double bass and drums, the quintet explores the free jazz of the 1960s, notably Ornette Coleman and Eric Dolphy. Its repertoire mixes classics with original compositions and Jim O'Rourke's work Eureka into a study full of contrasts.
