Into the Chronosphere: Sisi Bo'wale's afrofuturist theatre.

Into the Chronosphere is the world premiere of a theatre piece by Sisi Bo'wale at Ballhaus Naunynstraße. It opens as an exhibition unveiling, until space and time shift and three protagonists, guided by turtles, the ticking of clocks and the sound of their own voices, travel through imperial archives, anthills and quantum computers in search of the origin of one's own time. Sisi Bo'wale and his team weave performance, music, poetry and psychedelic images into a winking, queer, afrofuturist collage. At its centre lies the attempt to free time from its colonial, profit-driven linearity – and for Bo'wale it is also his directing debut at the venue.
