About
Lights On! Sustaining Light-Based Art is a conference day where international experts from conservation, curatorial practice, collection management and research discuss how to keep light-based artworks alive in museum collections. It forms part of the symposium Post Discipline, hosted by Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart as part of its 30th anniversary programme. Taking Dan Flavin's site-specific installation untitled (1996) as a starting point, the talks address technological obsolescence, material availability and sustainability. The day ends with a panel discussion titled Where Do We Go From Here?
