About
Mephisto is a stage production of Klaus Mann's novel at the Berliner Ensemble. Frank Castorf directs his own version of the text, with Jens Harzer starring as the actor Hendrik Höfgen. The story follows an ambitious performer who rises to fame under National Socialism, as a satire on opportunism and the betrayal of once-respectable values.
