About

"Mephisto | Neues Globe Theater" is a theatre production with live music by the Neues Globe Theater from Potsdam. Kai Frederic Schrickel's stage version takes us to the Berlin of the 1920s and 1930s, from the glittering theatre evenings of the Weimar Republic to the rise of National Socialism. At its centre is the actor Hendrik Höfgen, who becomes caught in a fatal conflict between artistic ambition and moral responsibility. With cabaret elements and a conférencier, it becomes a revue about the price of fame, awarded second place at the INTHEGA theatre prize "Die Neuberin" in 2024.
