About

What Hums Beyond is a site-specific performance at the Tieranatomisches Theater. Composer and sound artist Merche Blasco uses custom-built antennas to transform the building's invisible electromagnetic activity into a multichannel landscape of drones, pulses and hissing, shifting patterns. Accordionist Luc Vitk / Lucie Vítková and sheng player Li-Chin Li improvise in dialogue with this electronic environment. Before the performance, researcher Brett Mommersteeg leads a tour through the exhibition „Wavematters. Attending to the spectral“.
