Metaxy - Leonis Works x Norman Nodge
Atelier Gardens Berlin, Oberlandstraße 26–35 12099 Berlin
About
Metaxy is an immersive dance performance loosely inspired by Nietzsche's The Birth of Tragedy. The concept and artistic direction come from Renato De Leon of Leonis Works, with music selected and mixed live by Berghain resident DJ Norman Nodge. The performance follows a central figure caught between two opposing forces: the Apollonian world of order, discipline and ambition, and the Dionysian world of emotion, desire and freedom. Contemporary dance, electronic music, light and special effects let these forces collide, unravel and ultimately search for a state of balance, and an immersive exhibition extends the world of the piece before and after the performance.
