About
“Moscas – Fliegen und andere Gäste” is a Mexican feature film directed by Fernando Eimbcke. It follows Olga, who rents out a room in a run-down apartment block in Mexico City to short-term guests, and her lodger Tulio, who hides that his nine-year-old son Cristian is with him in the city. Once the deception is revealed, Olga gradually allows the closeness she fears. The film deals with illness, loss, grief and empathy, shot in delicately shaded black-and-white images.

Critics
7.4Very good
Critics praise the precise black-and-white imagery, dry humour and strong performances; only the sluggish start is faulted.
