About
A concert where musical traditions of the multiethnic Mongolia of the 13th and 14th centuries meet European music of the Middle Ages transitioning into the early Renaissance, accompanied by contemporary Mongolian poetry and video art. It was developed by the Berlin lautten compagney in close exchange with the Mongolian ensemble Tenger Ayalguu. It asks about reconstructible cultural transfers along the Silk Road, about the knowledge stored in instruments such as the Altai Yatga or the Limbe, and about how Mongolian overtone singing corresponds with European vocal techniques. Poets such as Gun-Aajav Ayurzana and Luvsandori Ulziitugs as well as the artist Bolormaa Algaa with animated video art accompany the project.
