The concert features the duo Ablabuda, whose members unite sound traditions from two regions: the Georgian Caucasus and the heights of the Andes. Manana Klein from Georgia brings authentic melodies of her homeland, while multi-instrumentalist and half-Bolivian David Beyer enriches the sound with Andean folk instruments. The programme spans traditional Georgian folk songs, city songs from Tiflis telling of everyday life with humour and melancholy, and Latin American pieces with their own rhythms and colours. Ablabuda stands for music that transcends borders: personal, close and carried by the joy of singing and making music together.
