"Dschingis Khan und die Welt der Mongolen" is a major special exhibition at the James-Simon-Galerie on Berlin's Museum Island. Marking the 800th anniversary of Genghis Khan's death, it is staged by the Museum für Vor- und Frühgeschichte of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. High-ranking archaeological finds from Mongolia and Europe – many shown outside Mongolia for the first time – shed light on the life of the nomadic horsemen and the history of the Mongol Empire. On display are treasures, warrior equipment, artworks, sculptures, clothing and jewellery from half a millennium of nomadic horseback cultures.
