NILS PETTER MOLVÆR TRIO

A live concert at the Gretchen club in Berlin-Kreuzberg featuring the Nils Petter Molvær Trio, opened by a DJ set from rines b2b Sean Steinfeger. Behind the trio is Norwegian trumpet player, composer and producer Nils Petter Molvær, who takes jazz, ambient, house, electronic and breakbeats as well as elements of hip hop, rock and pop and reshapes them into dramatic soundscapes of deep intensity. He was among the first to bring modern jazz improvisation together with dancefloor aesthetics and electronic sounds and is considered the founder of electroacoustic jazz; his 1997 solo debut “Khmer” influenced a whole generation of younger musicians. His current album “Be Quiet” was made with nine artists including Imogen Heap and John Paul Jones and unfolds Molvær's distinctive trumpet sound in intimate recordings between electronica, ambient and jazz.
