About

A hybrid talk on octopuses and squids, taking place on site and online. It is organised by BUND Landesverband Hessen e.V. together with its Darmstadt district group, the BUND Centre for Urban Nature and the Darmstadt adult education centre. The marine biologist and science journalist Bettina Wurche presents the latest research findings from the deep sea and aquaria. She covers the evolution and adaptations of cephalopods, their intelligence and social behaviour, as well as communication through flashing light and colour, perfect camouflage and maternal self-sacrifice.
