About

»Oracles« features Oracles I–V (listening spaces), a large-scale work by Chiyoko Szlavnics in which the performance space itself becomes a sound-shaping element. The EnsembleKollektiv Berlin, conducted by Max Murray, presents the premiere of a new version adapted especially for the acoustics of the St. Thomas-Kirche. The spatially distributed ensemble makes resonances, timbres and acoustic relationships in the church space directly tangible. Originally created for the Abbey of Bellelay, it becomes a site-specific reinterpretation that actively incorporates the space into the musical event. Leonie Reineke moderates and leads a conversation.
