Plattensammlung. Spritzdekor-Keramik aus dem Bröhan Museum
Bröhan-Museum, Schloßstraße 1A, 14059 Berlin, Charlottenburg
About
The exhibition at the Bröhan-Museum presents more than 350 ceramic cake plates with sprayed-on decoration. It is staged by the Bröhan-Museum and draws mainly on the collection of Fritz Zuschlag and Bodo Wieneke-Zuschlag, donated to the museum in 2022. Almost all the pieces date from the Weimar Republic and show the influence of Art Deco, Bauhaus, Cubism and Constructivism. They trace how the cake plate turned from a luxury item into an affordable everyday object and a symbol of modern consumer culture.
