About
A public guided tour of the exhibition „Ruin und Rausch. Gesichter Berlins 1910-1930“ at the Neue Nationalgalerie. Staged by the Nationalgalerie – Staatliche Museen zu Berlin and curated by Uta Caspary and Irina Hiebert Grun, this special exhibition brings together around 35 works that picture Berlin in the 1910s and 1920s, the decades of the First World War and the Weimar Republic. It traces the contradictions of that era, glamour and misery, excess and poverty, alongside new images of women in the fast-growing metropolis, with paintings and sculptures by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Otto Dix, Hannah Höch and Lotte Laserstein.
