Pos(t)-Monumenta: recasting colonial monuments in charcoal.

A laboratory titled Pos(t)-Monumenta: From Pedestal to Word, led by Julián Santana-Rodríguez (Posmonumenta), with participation from Carla Isabel Espinosa Muñoz (Yanakuna / Rematriation Oversight Group) as well as Indy Piapya, Marleny Deli Yalanda Cuchillo and Adriana María Velasco Muelas (Misak Misak). Participants will reproduce figures using moulds and charcoal-based materials, then use them in transformative actions and practices of anti-colonial pedagogical writing. The event takes place in Spanish with English-language mediation. It does not celebrate colonial figures but questions their authority and explores alternative practices of public memory; entry is free and donations are welcome.
