A keynote dialogue on the question of how a central place of learning and remembrance for the history of colonialism and its continuities can be shaped. Following an introduction by literary scholar and curator Ibou Diop, Alice Hasters and Khuê Phạm take up questions about forms, practices and politics of remembering and bring them into conversation with each other, after which the exchange continues with the audience. The event reflects on the Erinnerungskonzept Kolonialismus (2025), initiated by actors of Berlin's civil society, which combines activist, scholarly and artistic positions and presents guidelines for engaging with and remembering Berlin's long-suppressed colonial history. In cooperation with Kolonialismus erinnern, the dialogue opens the event „Kolonialismus erinnern. Vom Konzept zum Ort.“ on 13 November.
