About
"Power of Culture, Dream of Peace" is the 2026 Berlin Forum, a conference on Korean popular culture known as Hallyu. It is organised by Korean Studies at the Department of History and Cultural Studies. The occasion is the 150th anniversary of the birth of the independence activist Kim Koo, who wished for a nation contributing to humanity through culture rather than military might or economic dominance. Scholars from Korea and Europe ask whether Hallyu embodies Kim Koo's dream of the "sublime power of culture" and how it might evolve into a Global Public Good.
