About

"Geteiltes Leben - Kunst und Migration in Berlin" is an exhibition at Berlin Museum: Ephraim-Palais about how art history and migration history are closely interwoven in Berlin. It is curated by Christine Heidemann and Aurora Rodonò together with Pia Dressler and Antonia Welch Guerra of the Berlin Museum, and supported by the Julius Bötzow Stiftung. Artistic positions from the 1970s to today in painting, printmaking, film and sculpture explore what it is like to live between places, languages and memories. Rarely shown works from the Berlin Museum collection and loans by Cecilia Boisier, Santos Chávez, Ximena Ferrer Pizarro, Evelyn Kuwertz, Ertekin Özcan, Minh Duc Pham, Núria Quevedo, Chetna Vora and Hanefi Yeter tell of exile, everyday life and self-determination, complemented by archival material and audio interviews with the artists.
