Talks and readings
Queer-Thursday: Peter Rausch on queer life in the GDR.
About
A talk followed by a discussion about the lives of lesbian, gay and queer people in the GDR. The event looks at the four decades from the 1950s to the 1980s and traces the development of homosexuality, homophobia, emancipation and sexual culture chronologically. It takes place at the Stadtteilbibliothek Buch, admission is free and no prior knowledge is needed. Through historical insights and shared conversations, it paints a vivid picture of queer life between social constraints and growing visibility.
