About
A talk in the SPÄTI series at the Humboldt Forum about the extraction of raw materials, global conflicts and the search for peace in the Congo. It combines Nada Tshibwabwa's performance Kanzunji, in which the Congolese artist links discarded mobile phones with Luba mythology, with a discussion. Topics include cobalt for smartphones, copper and gallium for AI data centres, and the consequences of extractivism in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The speakers are the artist Nada Tshibwabwa and the Berlin historian Jacob Häberli; the talk is in German in the Mechanische Arena in the foyer.
