About
The exhibition „KERNFRAGEN. GRAINS OF MEMORY.“ takes an object from the collection of the Stadtmuseum Berlin as its starting point: a handful of charred grape seeds from an approximately 5,000-year-old Egyptian grave. Starting from this historical find, it critically examines colonial collecting practices, museum power structures and questions of cultural heritage. It was curated by students of the master's programme in museum management and communication at HTW Berlin in cooperation with the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin. With artistic contributions by Yupanqui Ramos, Julia Emslander and Carlos Sfeir Vottero, films, contemporary art and participatory formats open a space for memory and reflection.
