About

"Tammam Azzam: A Horizon Remains" is a solo exhibition of paintings, collages, and works on paper at the Goethe-Institut New York. It is curated by Saria AlMidani, with Zachary B. Feldman of Goethe-Institut New York as managing curator, and is supported by KORNFELD Galerie Berlin and Ayyam Gallery Dubai. The show marks Tammam Azzam's first solo exhibition in New York and his first institutional presentation in the United States. Starting from ruin rather than documenting it, Azzam turns the city into landscapes that speak of both human making and unmaking, engaging with postwar German painting and the example of his teacher Marwan Kassab-Bachi.
